“Welcome, my dear friends!”
“What is your outfit again?”
Tiffany scrutinized Hyoyeon’s outfit and received a scoff from the host.
“I’m Santa’s sexy elf, Miss Hwang. Now lets check you off my list…”
She counted the attendees behind Tiffany.
“Im Yoona, checked. Kwon Yuri, checked. Choi Sooyoung, checked. Lee Sunny, checked. Seo Juhyun, checked. Hwang Miyoung-”
Hyoyeon bit back a laugh and received a glare from Tiffany.
“-Tiffany, checked. Where is Kim Taeyeon?”
“Last checked, she was on her way. She asked us to go ahead first.”
Sunny replied and Tiffany shrugged when the rest looked at her. Hyoyeon ushered them into her house and they greeted the other guests politely before settling at their designated table.
“Now I’m worried.”
Yoona suddenly said when they sat down.
“What do you mean?”
Sooyoung took a sip of her red wine served by the waiter and nodded in approval.
“You told Taeyeon unnie there is a party right?”
Tiffany browsed the menu.
“A Christmas party?”
“A casual Christmas party that doesn’t need dressing up?”
“I- It’s common sense!”
Tiffany protested and Yuri apologized to the other guests at the attention Tiffany was drawing to the table.
“You know Taeyeon.”
Sunny checked her phone.
“I don’t want to remember what happened with the Halloween party.”
Tiffany winced at the unforgettable memory by Yuri’s reminder. The girls were invited to a Halloween party by a mutual friend two months back. They discussed their outfits to coordinate and ensure that everyone had a different role to dress up as. Tiffany decided to be a witch and Taeyeon settled on a zombie.
It was casual and fun, but Taeyeon took the liberty to engage in the service of her make-up-artist-sister. With exceptional acting, make up and outfit- Taeyeon’s entrance at the Halloween party caused an uproar and genuine panic.
“Should we call her?”
Seohyun shuddered; the image of a zombie-fied, rotting Taeyeon limping into the hall was a mortifying memory burnt in their brains. It may be Christmas with less gruesome characters but knowing Taeyeon, she would outdo herself.
“I’ll do it.”
Tiffany grumbled under her breath and excused herself from the table. Her call went through with three rings.
“Where are you?”
“I’m on my- ow, unnie!”
“I- Hang on, Fany.”
Tiffany quickly exit through the door and caught Hyoyeon’s eye at the reception. She mouthed ‘Taeyeon’ and Hyoyeon stifled a laugh, pointing at the carpark. Tiffany’s jaw dropped.
Waddling in the carpark towards her was Taeyeon. With a petite woman chasing after her, Taeyeon took tedious steps in her outfit, nearly towering a head taller. Her arms were jutted out weirdly, face visible in the middle of a hole in the costume, legs-
“Hello, Sunny? You guys stay for the party. I’m bringing Taeyeon back.”
Tiffany hissed into the phone and ran towards the car park in embarrassment.
“What? No- no no no no.”
She stopped in front of a flushed Taeyeon who grinned and whispered a hello.
Tiffany shook her head in desperation.
“No no, we’re not- No! Taeyeon is freaking Frosty the Snowman!”
